Movement-based stage Birth to 2 years
In this stage, children learn through sensory experiences and motor actions. They explore the world around them using their senses, developing object permanence and building a foundation for cognitive growth.
Early childhood cognitive stage 2 to 7 years
Children begin to use language, imagination, and symbolic play to understand the world. They are egocentric thinkers, focusing on their perspective, and start developing basic reasoning skills.
Hands-on reasoning stage 7 to 11 years
Logical thinking emerges as children begin to understand cause-and-effect relationships and solve concrete problems. They grasp concepts like conservation, classification, and sequencing.
Abstract reasoning stage 12 years & up
